3 Bible Tips: The Beatitudes - Meek
1. God blesses the meek—the "gentle and lowly" (New Living Translation)—and they will inherit the earth when Christ returns to establish the Kingdom of God here.
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5; see also Psalm 37:11).
2. Jesus was the perfect example of meekness.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29).
3. By being meek now, the followers of Jesus Christ will be developing the characteristics of servant leadership to help Christ rule on this earth.
"Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:26-28; see also Revelation 1:6 and 5:10).
