3 Bible Tips: Alpha and Omega
Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and omega is the last. So saying alpha and omega is like saying A to Z, from the beginning to the end.
1. God has sovereign control over all time.
"Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God'" (Isaiah 44:6).
2. Because of this, God can declare what will come in the future.
"Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure'" (Isaiah 46:10).
3. God reminds us of this at the end of the Bible.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last" (Revelation 22:13).
