3 Bible Tips: Sweet
1. God's words are sweet.
"How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" (Psalm 119:103).
2. The burnt offerings of the Old Testament were sweet because they represented Jesus Christ's sacrifice.
"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma" (Ephesians 5:2; see also Exodus 29:18).
3. But sin and folly putrefy what would naturally smell sweet.
"Dead flies putrefy the perfumer's ointment, and cause it to give off a foul odor; so does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honor" (Ecclesiastes 10:1; see also Leviticus 26:30-31).
