3 Bible Tips: Armageddon
The great end-time battle is popularly known as Armageddon. What does the Bible say about Armageddon and the battle that ensues?
1. The armies of the earth will be gathered at Armageddon (literally, the "Mount of Megiddo").
"For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty…
"And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon" (Revelation 16:14, 16).
2. Instead of attacking each other, these armies will join together to attack Jesus Christ as He returns toward Jerusalem.
"Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God…
"And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army" (Revelation 19:15, 19).
3. Jesus Christ will put down all opposition and will establish His Kingdom on earth.
"And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south…
"And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be 'The Lord is one,' and His name one" (Zechariah 14:4, 9).
