3 Bible Tips: Joy—Our Joyful God Enables Us to Be Joyful!
1. Jesus Christ was full of great joy and wants us to have that same joy. Happiness is a temporary emotion, whereas joy should "remain in you."
"These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full" (John 15:11).
2. We should express joy by "rejoicing" and we will grow in joy.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4).
3. Joy is very important, and regular prayer is a major key to joy. (The word "joy" appears 150 times and "rejoice" appears 187 times in the New King James Version of the Bible.)
"Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).
