3 Bible Tips: Miracles of Bread
1. God fed ancient Israel for 40 years with manna, a miraculous bread from heaven.
"Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat'" (John 6:31; see Exodus 16 for the whole story).
2. Twice Jesus miraculously multiplied small amounts of bread to feed thousands of people.
"Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?" (Matthew 16:9-10; see Matthew 14:15-21 and 15:32-38 for the rest of the story).
3. Much more important than these physical miracles, Jesus said He Himself is the bread of eternal life to those who hunger and thirst for His Word.
"And Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst'" (John 6:35).
