3 Bible Tips: How to Pray "Your Kingdom Come"
In what is commonly called the Lord's Prayer, Jesus told us to pray "thy kingdom come" (Matthew 6:10, King James Version). How should we pray for the Kingdom of God?
1. Recognize how much this world needs Jesus Christ's return.
"And the Lord said to him, 'Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it'" (Ezekiel 9:4).
2. Pray for the effectiveness of the message and the needs of the messengers.
"Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. Pray, too, that we will be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone believes in the Lord" (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2, New Living Translation).
3. Pray for God to send more laborers to do His work of preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God and preparing a people for that Kingdom.
"Then He said to them, 'The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest'" (Luke 10:2).
