3 Bible Tips: Honoring Fathers on Father's Day and Always
1. Obeying and showing respect have benefits!
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and your mother,' which is the first commandment with promise: 'that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth'" (Ephesians 6:1-3). (As they say on Star Trek, live long and prosper.)
2. Take constructive correction positively—because it can be a sign your dad loves you.
"My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights" (Proverbs 3:11-12).
3. Make your dad glad by doing right and making wise choices.
"The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise child will delight in him" (Proverbs 23:24).
