3 Bible Tips: Emotions

1. Jesus Christ showed a range of proper emotions.
"Jesus wept" (John 11:35; see also Mark 3:5, anger; Mark 1:41, compassion; John 15:11, joy).

2. Our emotions can be an important part of needed changes.
"For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter" (2 Corinthians 7:11).

3. But our emotions must be under control.
"A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back" (Proverbs 29:11).

3 Bible Tips: The Elect

The elect are God's chosen people, those He has called and who have responded to His calling.

1. God will save the world from total self-destruction for "the elect's sake."
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened" (Matthew 24:21-22).

2. The elect of God should act with love as God does.
"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do" (Colossians 3:12-13).

3. God wants Christians to diligently do His will to make their election sure.
"Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 1:10-11).
3 Bible Tips: Creation

1. God created all things through the Word, the One who became Jesus Christ.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made" (John 1:1-3).

2. The invisible God reveals Himself through the creation.
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened" (Romans 1:20-21).

3. Our Creator is now working in us to create His spiritual character.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
